Mulligan Moments

What new beginnings have brought you joy?  Moving into a place that was an answer to prayer? Recovering from a disease or unhealthy condition?  Calm weather after a severe storm? Forgiveness and restart with a relationship? For many, the start of a new project or new year brings hope.

This idea of second chances for improvement is reflected in, “Great is (God’s) faithfulness, his mercies begin afresh each morning.” (Lamentations 3:23, New Living Translation) I think of this verse while watching a sunrise. Is physical and spiritual renewal a purpose of nightly rest?

When unworthiness brings darkness to our soul, we can remember Christ enables us “to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4: 24). He welcomes us to new beginnings, forgiveness, and a renewed mind, every day.

Today I am celebrating the do-over of my website, thanks to talented Lindsey Johnson.

What mulligans are you grateful for?  I’d like to know.
